Quick Reviews of Top 10 Patio Gazebo

 1. 10 x 12 Regency II Patio Gazebo By Sunjoy

The Regency is a style icon of the gazebo world; its beautiful design makes it stand out from others. The ways the mosquito nets have been fitted add to the aesthetic of a regal piece of outside furniture.

Not only is it exceptionally stylish, the small design features make it so that it can survive in high winds. The vents at the top of the unit alleviate wind stress as well as allowing warm air to escape, keeping the area cool and breezy.

The regency is a large and heavy gazebo so you need help erecting it. There is no doubt that the weight adds to the sturdiness of the entire structure and once it has been put up, it isn’t moving anywhere. I also liked the powder coated steel frames, not only are they in a good colour that brings the gazebo together, they will remain rust free.

Things We Liked

  • Stylish and premium quality
  • Amazing design details
  • Fitted mosquito Nets
  • Large footprint
  • Powder coated beams, which means it will last

Things We Didn't Liked

  • It is a very heavy gazebo
  • It will take more than one person to put it up

 2. Z-Shade Instant Gazebo Canopy Tent Outdoor Patio Shelter

The Z-Shade provides functionality over style. It is an ideal purchase for people who want a quick fix to add shade into their garden and don’t want to have to deal with heavier products that take longer to put up. Whilst it is still a stylish looking gazebo, it doesn’t have the allure of other products.

It is a sturdy gazebo, when you erect it you will see that it won’t be moving especially if you anchor it correctly. For a popup product, you can’t fault the Z shade; the height adjustable legs make it so that you can level it off even on the most uneven ground. You won’t need to spend all day trying to put it up; it will take you and one other less than five minutes!

As it is a pop up product, all metal parts have been powder coated to allow for knocks when you taking it up and putting it down. This will increase the life span of the product and give you endless summers of shade. Unlike other products, it does not come with mosquito netting or a vented roof, so you may find that hot air doesn’t escape as well.

Things We Liked

  • Popup product design means it is easy to install
  • Powder coated legs make the unit impervious to rust
  • Large footprint providing a big area of shade
  • UV protection
  • Individual Leg height adjustment

Things We Didn't Liked

  • No mosquito nets
  • No top venting allowing warm air to escape

 3. Christopher Knight Home Sonoma Canopy Gazebo

Want to sit in your own Mediterranean style paradise that makes you feel like you are on a beach in Italy? The Christopher Knight gazebo can do this for you. Not only will this gazebo give you a large shaded area for you and your friends and family, it will add style to your garden.

The integrated mosquito nets are fashioned in such a way that it looks like they are curtains rather than netting, adding more style to the item than other gazebos. This particular model also has air vents in the top, so even in higher winds; there is no chance that the gazebo can take flight.

This is a more permanent unit than the pop up equivalent, so be warned that it is heavy and will require assembly. You will need at least one other person to help you put this together, but the results are absolutely worth it.

Things We Liked

  • Constructed out of high-end materials and fabrics
  • Mosquito nets that are integrated into the design
  • Design features that will help the gazebo withstand adverse weather
  • Weather proof design features
  • Large footprint

Things We Didn't Liked

  • Very heavy packaging and boxes
  • Cannot erect with just one person

 4. Kozyard Caesar 10'x12' Hardtop Aluminum Permanent Gazebo

If you are looking for a more permanent fixture for your garden and want a gazebo that will hold up in all weathers, the Kozyard will be agood option for you. Unlike other items I have reviewed, the Kozyard is not constructed from fabric; it is fully aluminium with a hard top.

The entire unit is a lovely dark brown colour, which will still make a style statement in your garden. The rust proofing is an essential feature given that the unit is constructed of metal. The mosquito nets are also exceptionally durable and work to give the unit a softer feel.

I struggled to put this gazebo up on my own, so I would advise that you have at least one other person to help. Whilst it is aluminium, it is lighter than steel frame alternatives, but erecting it on your own would be a challenge. The selling point for me is that the roof is aluminium, so you won’t get any of the normal water pooling damage that you can see in other products!

Things We Liked

  • All metal construction
  • The roof means you don’t see the normal water pooling damage
  • Removable mosquito nets
  • Very well constructed using quality materials
  • The steal roof will deal with most adverse weather

Things We Didn't Liked

  • Not as stylish as other garden gazebos
  • Has the potential to leak through the roof joints

 5. Abba Patio 10' x 13' Gazebo Soft Top Fully Enclosed Garden Canopy

The Abba Gazebo has one of the largest footprints of any we are reviewing. It is the ideal product for people who want to socialise and eat outside throughout the summer months. The space offered is fantastic and you really can all gather inside on hot summer’s nights.

Not only is it an exceptionally large gazebo, it is also exceptionally elegant and beautifully designed. The finish on the mosquito nets mean they are weighted down and won’t move in the wind, which results in letting less in.

The double vented roof makes it ideal to stay in your garden all year round, as weather can move through the unit without damaging it. Due to the size, you will need another person to help you erect it and get the correct level of tension on the canopy. We love the aesthetic of this gazebo and the high-quality parts it is made from!

Things We Liked

  • Amazing footprint, you can easily fit in 6 seat dining set
  • Beautiful and well thought out design
  • Quality materials
  • All metals have been treated to help prevent rust
  • Mosquito curtains that don’t move in light wind

Things We Didn't Liked

  • Due to the size you will need at least one other person to put this gazebo up
  • If you are making it a permanent addition to your garden, you will need to weight the legs.

 6. Mefo Garden 12 x 12 ft Outdoor Patio Swan Gazebo

If you are looking for quick shade for an impromptu party, then look no further than the Mefo. Not only is this gazebo ideal for parties in your garden, it is super quick to put up and take down making it ideal for even camping and festival use!

The sleek design may not be to everyone’s taste, but the minimalism is ideal if you want a basic shaded area without having to spend a few hours erecting one. There are no mosquito nets on this gazebo.

You can put this gazebo up with one person, but you won’t get the best finish. You would be better off with two people to make sure it looks its best. The Mefo is easy to install and will give your garden a sleek, stylish and minimalist look!

Things We Liked

  • Unique shaped gazebo
  • Iron treated poles will make sure it has a long life
  • Strong canopy that will stand against adverse weather
  • Canopy wont pool in the rain
  • Quick and easy to assemble

Things We Didn't Liked

  • Shape is not to everyone’s taste
  • No mosquito nets or capability to add nets

 7. GOJOOASIS Barbecue Grill Gazebo Outdoor Canopy

The Gojooasis is a traditional design gazebo; it has an understated yet classy look that will add class to your garden without being over the top. The minimalist design will appeal to people who are looking for a basic yet stylish product.

The fire retardant fabric makes it ideal for use over BBQ’s and the double ventilation system means that the smoke and smells won’t linger. This design feature also allows for a cool breeze and means that adverse weather won’t cause the gazebo to lift off.

It is a well-constructed product with durable components; all the metal poles and beams have been treated to limit rust and the impact of water on the frame. As the canopy needs to be pulled taught to be effective, you cannot erect this gazebo solo. The tool kit provided even comes with a second set of tools to ensure that both parties can erect it correctly.

Things We Liked

  • Sleek and elegant design adds class to your garden
  • Ideal for putting over a BBQ, smoke and cooking smells can escape
  • Ventilation system means adverse weather wont damage the canopy
  • All metal is treated to make it rust resistant
  • Tension of the canopy limits water pooling

Things We Didn't Liked

  • There are no mosquito nets for this product
  • You cannot put it up alone; one other person will be required.

 8. Suntime Outdoor Pop Up Gazebo Canopy

The Suntime is one of the few pop up gazebos that look like they are a permanent structure. The intuitive design is sleek and stylish but comes with all the ease of a pop up. The canopy allows for you to keep it up in your garden all year round if you so choose, the ventilation system allows for the air to escape meaning that you don’t run the risk of it taking off during adverse weather.

I really liked the addition of the solar powered lights. This is a unique feature and makes the gazebo highly functional for late summer evening dinners and parties without having to bring an internal power source outside!

The Suntime has detectable mosquito and bug nets so you can take your afternoon socialising into the evening without fear of getting bitten! As it is a pop up, it is really quick to erect and use and just as easy to take down which is a real bonus.

Things We Liked

  • Stylish and elegant, looks like a traditional gazebo but has the ease of a pop up.
  • Pop up makes for quick erecting and take down
  • Mosquito nets
  • Solar powered lights
  • Large footprint, ideal for parties

Things We Didn't Liked

  • Whilst it is pop up, you do need more than one person to put it up
  • The canopy has the propensity to sag in rain

 9. Barton 10' x 13' ft Garden Patio Gazebo

In terms of design elegance and style, the Barton is the clear winner. The beauty of this gazebo will be the envy of all of your friends and wouldn’t be out of place by a pool in Bali. The time taken to design such a gazebo has paid off, the features of the mosquito curtains and double ventilation system add to the look and provide you with functional additions, it is a fabulous looking (and working) product.

Quality has been assured across all of the parts, all the metals are treated to eliminate rust problems and the canopy is UV resistant so it will last. The way the canopy is designed limits water pooling and thus damage, so it is ideal to keep up in your garden all year round.

As the canopy is in such as shape that prevents water pooling, it is essential that you are not on your own when you erect it. This will take longer than other gazebos we have reviewed due to the size of it. Make sure you have spare hands around you when you are putting this up!

Things We Liked

  • Timeless design that will become the focal point of your garden
  • Made with high quality treated steal that won’t rust
  • The canopy won’t suffer from water pooling
  • Ventilation system will keep you cool even on hot days
  • Can fit a six seater in the gazebo with no problems

Things We Didn't Liked

  • You have to have another person to help otherwise you won’t get the correct tension on the canopy.
  • In heavy rain the canopy may leak.

 10. Coolaroo Butterfly Backyard or Patio Gazebo

The Coolaroo is another alternative to the traditional gazebo design; the minimalism still offers large amounts of shade without being invasive. This design is ideal for someone who doesn’t want a gazebo to be the centre piece of their garden but would still enjoy stylish shade.

The canopy is constructed of fast drying fabric that will protect you from UV and other harmful rays, due to the nature of the gazebo, the fabric wont pool and drag under the weight of rain.

It is very light weight and very easy to install. It doesn’t just have to remain in your garden it can be taken out with you to the park, music festivals and other events. As it is so light weight, you can easily put it up on own.

Things We Liked

  • Enhanced UV protection

  • The tension makes the entire unit structurally secure
  • Easy to put up and take down on your own
  • Portable

Things We Didn't Liked

  • Will not stand against adverse weather
  • Does not have mosquito nets

Why Do You Need A Gazebo?

Being out in the sun for long periods of time can impact our health. From short term issues like sunburn or heat stroke, to long term issues such as melanoma caused by UVA and UVB rays. When you are purchasing a gazebo, look for canopies that are rated to reduce the effects of these harmful rays. You don’t want to spend all summer indoors because you haven’t got any shade outside, this is why a gazebo is a must have for all your garden needs.

Not only do they protect you from the sun, some will also protect you from biting insects that come out at night. Why not extend the party and look for a gazebo that has built in mosquito nets so you can sit and enjoy the evening summer breeze without fear of getting bitten.

What Are You Going To Use Your Gazebo For?

If you enjoy sitting outside in the summer months but don’t want to get sun burnt, a gazebo is an ideal shaded spot. Another thing you can use your gazebo for is a BBQ shade. You can now purchase gazebos especially for this. They have fire retardant material and a ventilation system that allow you to safely BBQ under it whilst being able to stay in the shade. If you are looking for a gazebo which you can have parties in, look for one with a larger footprint. In the products we have reviewed, you can fit up to a 6-seater under their so you are able to entertain your friends and family whilst staying in the shade.

If you want to buy a gazebo and keep it up all year round, look for products that have their poles treated with anti-rust materials. This will ensure that your gazebo will last throughout the winter months. Also look at the type of canopy, select one that doesn’t look as though water will pool in it, as this will not only damage the canopy. It will also cause damage to the poles as the increase in weight will cause sagging.

Ventilation systems are a must if you are thinking about making your gazebo a permanent fixture, as if it doesn’t have it, the gazebo can be easily picked up by the wind. There are also options for hard top gazebos which are sturdier than their fabric counterparts. They are naturally heavier so able to withstand more adverse weather, but they can be prone to leaking if you haven’t erected it correctly.

Whether you want an ornate centre piece for your garden, or a minimalist sunscreen, there is a gazebo to suit every need. From the minimalist sunscreen to timeless and elegant, you really will be able to find one that suits you.

How Do You Go About Choosing The Best Gazebo For Your Patio?

There are many reasons why you might want to purchase a gazebo for your patio, it can be for a shaded space or as decoration, so what factors do you look for when selecting you this new garden furniture?

A Shaded Space

They also give you somewhere to eat that is protected from the sun and the rain (if you want to eat outside during this type of weather!) Being in the sun for too long can be damaging to your health, so providing yourself with some shade can be really good for you.

Easy to Put Up

If you are looking for a gazebo that is easy to put up and install, look for a pop up gazebo. They are easy to install on your own and require limited tools and effort. If you don’t have access to another pair of hands, you can do it yourself. They are also portable, so if you need to move your gazebo to another location or simply want to take it to a music festival with you, they are as easy to pack down as they are to put up.

Final Considerations

A gazebo is not only practical; it is a statement piece for your garden. They can reflect your taste, style and personality whilst also providing you with a functional space that you can lounge around in on hot summer’s days.
